Important Estimate Notice

Values shown by this tool are estimates for documentation and discussion only. They are not a guarantee of coverage, payment, settlement amount, or replacement cost. Final claim decisions are made by the insurance carrier and adjuster under the policy terms, limits, deductibles, depreciation rules, documentation, and applicable law. This tool does not change, expand, or interpret any insurance policy.

Why are there two dollar amounts?

Insurance companies usually pay based on what your items were actually worth at the time of the loss — not what they'd cost brand new. This is called "Actual Cash Value" (ACV). Think of it like selling a used car — a 5-year-old car is worth less than a new one, even if it works fine.

Simple example:

Your TV costs $800 brand new today, but it's 3 years old. Since TVs typically last about 7 years, your TV has used up about half its life.

$800 new price - $343 wear & tear = $457 current value

Good news: If your policy includes "Replacement Cost" coverage, your insurance may pay the full $800 to buy a new one after you replace it. This tool calculates both amounts so you're prepared.
